FAQ

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ‘READY TO HANG’, ‘CUSTOM’ AND ‘BESPOKE’?

READY TO HANG pieces, as seen in the gallery, are pre-designed, ‘off the shelf’ montage artworks.  Colour is a large part of my work and I trust you will find a colour palette to suit your interior.

These designs cannot be customised due the very specific colour palette and images chosen for the designs.

These designs are available in stretched canvas or prints on etching paper and framed behind glass.

CUSTOM artwork builds on Ready to Hang designs to personalise them for you from my existing image library.  Built over years here in Hong Kong, I have an extensive library of photographs to draw upon to modify existing designs.

These designs are also available for order ‘as is’ with no changes made.

These designs are available as stretched canvas or prints on etching paper and framed behind glass.

BESPOKE designs are commissioned to capture your personal experience of Hong Kong as I photograph the faces and places of your time here — creating your own unique montage of memories.

These designs use a mixture of existing images and new photography for images that I don’t already have. You may wish to add a portrait session to include loved ones in your bespoke artwork; a separate cost applies.

These designs are available as stretched canvas or print on etching paper and framed behind glass.

WILL MY WORK BE A LIMITED EDITION?

I create a regularly updated collection of designs that are not mass produced.  I do a small, limited print run of each design and then it is removed from the website.

All ‘Custom’ and ‘Bespoke’ artworks are unique and never replicated, so you can be assured that no one else will have your design.

CAN I ADD NON-BELINDA BATH IMAGES TO A MONTAGE?

I create original prints and canvases with great care, drawing from my own imagery and proudly put my name on them. I am unable to use images that are not my own.  A list of what each image in your artwork represents can be sent to you upon request.

CAN I RECONFIGURE A DESIGN?

All of my designs can be reconfigured to portrait or landscape upon request. Design fees apply.

WHAT IS YOUR LEAD & DELIVERY TIME?

It will generally take 1 week from order to delivery.  Delivery to Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, Discovery Bay and outlying islands will be made to your door via courier, for the sum of HKD250 which is added to your cart for online orders and to your invoice for custom and bespoke orders.

Please do not pay any money to the delivery drivers (even if they ask).  The delivery cost is included in the invoice and all payments are to be made directly to ‘Belinda Bath’ per instructions on the invoice.

FRAMED MONTAGE ON GERMAN ETCHING WATERCOLOUR PAPER

It will generally take 3 weeks from order to delivery.  Delivery to Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, Discovery Bay and outlying islands will be made to your door via courier, for the sum of HKD250 which is added to your cart for online orders and to your invoice for custom and bespoke orders.

HOW DO YOU SHIP OUTSIDE HONG KONG?

All prints and canvases sent to another country from Hong Kong ideally need to be sent unframed and rolled as the cost of shipping fully framed pieces is exorbitant and there is risk of damage.  It is therefore up to the customer to arrange framing when shipping outside of Hong Kong.  Framing guidance and images to assist in the framing process can be provided upon request. An option is for the dismantled wooden stretcher frame to be included with the rolled print. This is on request.

All prints and canvases are sent internationally via TNT courier, and will need to be signed for upon delivery. They can be tracked by their consignment number if required.  Shipping costs by TNT vary depending on the destination and the size of the artwork.  Quotes will be provided before purchase.

ARE THERE TAXES AND DUTIES FOR ORDERS SHIPPED OUTSIDE HONG KONG?

You need to be aware of potential import fees, duties, and taxes when choosing to have the your purchase shipped internationally.

Orders shipped to Australia or the United Kingdom may be subject to import fees, duties, and taxes imposed by the respective country's customs authorities. These additional costs are not included in the item's purchase price or the shipping fee you pay to Belinda Bath Images and remain the sole responsibility of the purchaser.

It is essential to note that these fees, duties, and taxes are determined by the customs authorities in Australia and the United Kingdom and are not under my control. However, I want to assure you that I make every effort, within the legal requirements of each respective country and their tax and duties regimes, to minimize these fees and taxes for you.

WHAT ARE STRETCHED CANVASES?

The stretched canvases are printed using a Giclee process on 100% cotton canvas and are treated with a laminated coating to minimise colour loss and fading.  The canvas is stretched over a wooden frame with the wrapped portion finished in white.  On the bottom right hand side is my Belinda Bath chop (see photo below), which denotes the authenticity of the piece.  Two hooks are attached to the rear of the wooden frame for hanging.

There is an option to purchase your canvas unframed and rolled, to reduce shipping costs internationally. I recommend that you take the rolled canvas to a professional framer, who can refer to this image guide to correctly stretch the canvas over a frame.

WHAT IS A FRAMED MONTAGE?

A framed montage is a montage of images printed on Hahmemühle 310gsm German etching watercolour paper with a white border (approximately 9cm wide) and a black or white frame (approximately 3cm wide) behind glass. Alternatively there is the option to have a black border.

My Belinda Bath chop, which denotes the authenticity of the piece, is placed on the bottom left-hand side of the white border. All prints are then named and signed.

Please allow three weeks for printing and framing of framed prints.  Delivery is to your door. Delivery of the framed prints is HKD250.

HOW DO I ORDER CUSTOMISED & BESPOKE ARTWORK?

I am more than happy to customise/personalise your canvas design so you have a one-off design that is tailor made for you. I do this in one of two ways.

CUSTOMISED DESIGN, USING EXISTING IMAGES

The design fee includes my time to put the design together for you and make any changes needed until final approval.

I can change the format and configuration of a design if needed to suit your wall space.

I can add new images into the design from my existing library, such as a street sign or a place. In some instances I can add images from another design if they work within the colour palette.  Just contact me with a list of things/places/images that you would like added and I will look through my library of images and work them into the design where possible.

The design will be emailed to you for approval.

While I am more than happy to change any images you don’t like or add a different one, the placement of the images is at my discretion due to the complex design process.

BESPOKE DESIGN, incorporating up to five new images using new photography

This includes my time to put the the design together for you and make any changes needed until final approval.  It also includes my time to go out and photograph your requests, petrol, tolls and parking fees.

I can change the format and configuration of any of the designs if needed to suit your wall space.

In some instances I don’t have the images or street signs that you want in your design so I need to go out and take photos for you.  I am very happy to do this to create a special design just for you.

*****

When considering a customised canvas, firstly think about what colour/design you would like from the website.  Then let me know what images you would like added into the design, keeping in mind what will work best within the colour palette as I base all my designs around a strong colour theme.  I will then go out and photograph them for you and work them into the design.  I will work closely with you until you are happy with the design.  You are also welcome to come to my home to work with me and make the final approval process easier if you like.

Also think about what will make a nice image and will photograph well.  Work buildings and mountains don’t work so well in the designs for example.  My designs are composed of a mixture of ‘literal’ and ‘emotional’ images that all work together to make up one special design and memory.  While one particular image may not mean anything to you specifically it will be an integral part of the design to evoke a memory and help the design come together.  The design process is a complex one and while I work very hard to accommodate all your image requests I may not be able to make all of your images work within the design.

Please allow 3 – 4 weeks for a customised design, although I am happy to work with you to meet your deadline.  Some designs can be done faster depending on what is involved.
While I am more than happy to change any images you don’t like or add a different one the placement of the images is at my discretion due to the complex design process.

PLEASE NOTE  that unfortunately I cannot customise designs from countries other than Hong Kong.  I have limited images to draw from for other countries and these canvases have been designed based on my interpretations and are not intended to be customised.

HOW DO I ORDER BESPOKE ARTWORK WITH PORTRAITS?

This is a separate cost and is charged in addition to the cost of your ‘Custom’ or ‘Bespoke’ artwork price.  Contact me for the price list.

This is treated as a separate shoot and all edited images taken are sent to you to keep.

Not all of the designs are suitable to add images of children/family.  Photography of the children requires a specific approach to work within the artworks.  Traditional ‘family portrait’ style images are not taken, with a preference for a ‘natural’ approach, blending into the artwork.  The style of the images need to compliment and work within the existing artwork to make for a beautiful and balanced design.  Only images taken by myself can be used within the artworks.

Bespoke artworks with portraits require a minimum of 4 weeks.

Designs and colour palettes recommended for inclusion of portraits are included in the ‘Bespoke Artwork with Portraits‘ gallery.

I will work with you on where is best to take the photos and suggested clothing to get the best images to work within your chosen colour palette.

WHAT ARE SINGLE IMAGE PRINTS?

Single image prints are sold unframed. The prints, inclusive of the white border are 30cm x 42cm. Larger sizes are available on request. This also gives the freedom to frame them according to individual taste, style and decor. They are packed in customised boxes with suitable protection to prevent damage during shipping. Every single image print is completed with the Belinda Bath chop and my signature, which denotes the authenticity of the piece.

They look best when framed with a 5cm - 8cm mount board, making sure the chop and signature is fully shown and highlighted. Please refer to the images below - the image of the framed print is for reference only.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SIZING?

If purchasing more than one canvas to hang together it is recommended that all canvases are ordered at the same time. As the production process involves wet ink printing on to 100% cotton canvas, a small amount of shrinkage is to be expected. This will limit the opportunity for variable shrinkage and small sizing differences. Should you prefer sizing that is not listed, please contact me.
